EMR Express brings quick and easy metal recycling to the heart of Barking
Tradespeople and members of the public in Barking can now benefit from quick and easy metal recycling thanks to the arrival of EMR Express
EMR Express, part of world leading metal recycler, EMR, is delighted to announce the opening of its new site in Barking, aimed at revolutionising metal recycling in the local area.
Located on Hertford Road (IG11 8BL) between Wickes and Selco, the new facility offers a swift and accessible service with busy tradespeople and home renovators in mind.
This new facility is revolutionising metal recycling for smaller businesses, tradespeople, and the local community, offering an easier, faster and more convenient recycling experience.
EMR Express is dedicated to enhancing the customer experience, offering a scaled-down site that accepts, weighs, and pays customers for their metal in a matter of minutes. Well-trained, professional staff are there to guide customers through the process, enabling them to continue with their day, having been paid a competitive price for their material without having to wait.
The metal collected at the site will then re-enter the circular economy, reducing manufacturers’ reliance on the carbon-intensive and nature-depleting mining of virgin materials around the world.
Doors opened at 7am today, Monday 16th October, the Barking site now provides a streamlined process for residents and tradespeople to recycle unwanted metals such as:
- Copper piping
- Electrical cable
- Taps and valves
- Kitchen sinks
- Lead
- Steel and aluminium window frames (no glass)
- Radiators
- And much more…
By choosing to recycle with EMR Express, customers play their part in protecting nature’s scarce resources by diverting materials from landfill and reintroducing them into the circular economy.
In line with its commitment to sustainability, EMR Express Barking is an integral part of EMR's ambitious goal to achieve net-zero emissions by 2040. The new facility has been designed with this mission in mind and features fully electric material handling equipment, reducing its carbon footprint, and exemplifying environmental responsibility.
The opening of EMR Express Barking has also brought economic benefits to the local community. The facility has created four new jobs, providing employment opportunities for residents, and contributing to the area's economic growth.
David Holdcroft, Commercial Director at EMR, said: “We are thrilled to introduce EMR Express Barking to the local community, providing an accessible metal recycling service right on the North Circular.
“EMR Express is built around the needs of tradespeople and members of the public who simply want to deposit materials, get paid a competitive price for them, and then continue on with their day.
“The metal recycling industry is changing fast, as businesses and individuals look for ways to make sustainable choices about how they dispose of material. EMR customers can rely on us to ensure the metal we collect at our new Barking site will be processed responsibly and re-enter the circular economy for the next generation of manufacturing or construction.”
EMR Express Barking is set to become a cornerstone of the local circular economy, offering both convenience and environmental responsibility.
